Over the years I have written four letters to The New York Times. Two of them were published which shows that my view points were taken into consideration.

HELY LIMA PORTRAIT AT JAPANESE ARTIST SHOW

Some time ago, the Japaneze artist Sanae Takahata had one-woman show at a prestigious gallery in Tokyo. One of her paintings was a portrait of artist Hely Lima called Harmony. Sanae does psycological portraits. She interviews her subjects and constructs the work around her perception of the individual´s personality. Unlike Fried Kahlo, who drew inspiration from her own soul, Sanae Takahata draws inspiration from the perceived soul of others. Lima felt flattered by be painting by a peer whose works he greatly admires.
