From the book " Rules for a Knight" by Ethan Hawke!

SOLITUDE
"Create time alone with yourself. When seeking the wisdom and clarity o
your own mind, silence is a helpful tool."

HUMILITY
" Never announce  that you are a knight, simply behave as one. You
are better than no
one, and no one is better than you."

Jeremy Bentham, a philosopher ahead of his time!

Jeremy Bentham was an English philosopher from the 18th Century, who advocated
equal right for women, freedom of expression,
decriminalization of homosexuals,
abolition of slavery and many other causes. He was way ahead of his time. When he died,
left specific instructions that his skeleton should be permanently preserved inside a
wax image of himself.  Now his wax image can be seen at the Metropolitan Breuer
Museum, New York City, at the exhibition " Like Life: Sculpture, Color and The Body"

RAIN AS A TRANQUILIZER!

It rained in New York City for two days, but the rain has a tremendous calming effect on me. It's equivalent to two pills of valium and xanax. It has to do with my childhood, when I went to the backyard and turned the pools of water into lakes, dams and rivers. Rain is one of the hardest themes to paint, but I have found a way and it is a great success in my work!

It happened AGAIN!

America Has More Guns
Than Any Other Country

The first step is to understand the scale of the challenge America faces: The U.S. has more than 300 million guns – roughly one for every citizen – and stands out as well for its gun death rates. At the other extreme, Japan has less than one gun per 100 people, and typically fewer than 10 gun deaths a year in the entire country.

Kilauea keeps causing havoc in Hawaii!

The Big Island's Kilauea volcano spit out ash and smoke 30,000 feet into the air, prompting state officials to hand out almost 18,000 masks to help residents deal with the fallout. Thursday's volcanic activity was not the major eruption that scientists warn could happen at any time. And now Kilauea is not the only volcano on the Big Island they're worried about. Scientists are also keeping a close eye on Mauna Loa, with the United States Geological Survey saying the potential threat level from that volcano is "very high."

Great photo from space

Russian cosmonauts Anton Shkaplerov (left) and Oleg Artymev peek through a window of the International Space Station's Cupola observatory. Shkaplerov tweeted the photo on May 9 in honor of Victory Day, a Russian holiday commemorating the surrender of Nazi Germany in 1945. "On Red Square in Moscow and in all major cities parades pass, and we @OlegMKS also decided to make a solemn flight over the planet in our space tank," Shkaplerov tweeted.

The Kilauea strikes again!

Hawaii Volcanoes National Park is closed again until further notice because of the threat of violent explosions from the Kilauea volcano. Scientists warn of many things that could come from the volcano -- acid rain, falling ash, more fissures oozing lava -- over the next couple of weeks, but they're most concerned about "ballistic projectiles." That would be huge rocks and other debris propelled through the air for miles by Kilauea's explosions.
