After almost 100 years...the 2nd Avenue subway  opened. The stations are a state of art.

If Hitchcock was alive and wanted to make a sequence for the movie "The Birds" he could come to our garden and hire a lot of them.

"Active, seething visions of New York can been seen in Hely Lima's work. Here the pulse of the city with its urban extremes and stereotypes can be seen and felt with humor, accentuating the immense vitality found in squalor. Social comment is surreptitiously woven into this form, pointing at certain institutions."

"Don Quixote went up against windmillls. Hely Lima is an artist who's gone up against gentrification.
Lima has a better way to freeze memory than you or I. He has his eyes, his fingers, and his talent"

Canal Street succumbs to gentrification!

Gone was the time when I went to Canal Street ( Manhattan) scavenging junk stores for discarded computer chips to use in my work. All those stores went out of business. Buildings ha

s been upgraded to charge astronomic rents! The Sheraton Hotel moved in and so the fancy chi chi Soho-type boutiques.

When we think we know New York City well, after living here so many years, we discover something new and unexpected...like the food boutiques underground in the subway station on Columbus Circle which goes from 57th street to 59th street.

Why do some people have the idiotic notion that an out of space alien has big bald head, big black eyes without pupil, long o skinny and elongated arms and legs? Man has the necessity of getting an answer for everything,
even if some things can not be explained, because our brains are not yet capable of understand them. On the other hand, scientists believe that an alien  has to be like us, need oxygen and  water. We just don't know. It could be a being  who has totally different needs from us. I believe that we aren't alone, but talking about cosmology, we are still in the time when they invented the bicycle.
