Immortalized by Alexandre Dumas Fils

The Camille is a beautiful flower, but it was Alexandre Dumas Fils who immortalized it when in 1848 publish a novel La Dame aux Camélias which subsequently was adapted for the stage and premiered at the Théâtre du Vaudeville in Paris in 1852. Later it became an opera and a movie.
